The chief executive of Caerphilly County Borough Council has been suspended following claims his pay rise was ‘unlawful’.

The chief executive of Caerphilly County Borough Council has been suspended following claims his pay rise was ‘unlawful'.

Last week, the Wales Audit Office found that pay increases given to senior officers did not follow due process and were ‘unlawful on a number of grounds'. Leader of the council, Harry Andrews, has confirmed that Anthony O'Sullivan has been suspended from his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
