Caerphilly County Borough Council has decided against merging its social services provision with Blaenau Gwent.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has decided against merging its social services provision with Blaenau Gwent, amid concerns over the financial risk to Caerphilly taxpayers.

Councillors at Caerphilly have recommended the original proposal to integrate social services with Blaenau Gwent does not go ahead. A report warns there is a high risk of financial cross subsidisation if the merger did go ahead.
