A capital lesson on health

After George Osborne announced a string of integrated care pilots in London, a timely report from NLGN highlights the challenges of a whole systems approach. Jessica Studdert and Sarah Stopforth explain

The London Agreement for five new integrated care model pilots is being seen as a step towards further devolution to local health and council leaders in the longer term.

The announcement is the first since the Spending Review's commitment to full integration of health and social care locally by 2020. It is a sign of things to come next year, as the scale and pace of integration will need to step up significantly.
