Action to tackle social segregation and the rise of extremism is not happening quickly enough, a former integration tsar has told MPs.

Dame Louise Casey told the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee that not enough had been done since the publication of her independent report on integration in December 2016, adding Whitehall's Green Paper on integrated communities ‘feels timid'.
