The Chancellor is aiming to create a 'better-educated workforce' by extending the university technical colleges programme and creating an additional 50,000 apprenticeships.

'Britain's working age population has lower skills than the populations of America, Germany and France. That's probably the biggest problem facing our economy in the future,'Chancellor, Mr George Osborne said.
