Chancellor resigns but Jenrick stays at MHCLG in cabinet reshuffle

Sajid Javid has resigned as chancellor, but Robert Jenrick remains local government secretary after Prime Minister Boris Johnson carried out a wide-ranging reshuffle of his cabinet.

Sajid Javid has resigned as chancellor, but Robert Jenrick remains local government secretary after Prime Minister Boris Johnson carried out a wide-ranging reshuffle of his cabinet.

The shock departure of Mr Javid came just weeks ahead of a key Budget, due to take place on 11 March, with Rishi Sunak taking over as chancellor.
