Everyone diagnosed with cancer should be able to easily access the integrated support they need to enable them to live their lives as fully as possible. For this to happen all over the country, system change is needed in cancer care.

A new report looks at how one programme in particular can lead the way. The Macmillan Local Authority Partnership Programme (MLAPP) is trialling new ways to provide person-centred care and support for people living with cancer. It does this by assessing the person's needs holistically and connecting them to local community assets and resources, with local authorities playing a crucial convening role.
