Redcar and Cleveland BC's chief executive will help ‘tackle the longer-term challenge' of restructuring the local economy after the closure of a huge steel plant.

Amanda Skelton, who is chair of the taskforce formed after Thai owner SSI went into liquidation, said she wanted to ‘secure sustainable jobs for current and future generations of people'.
