WORKFORCE

Chief Finance Officer

You will be an ambitious, dynamic and commercially-minded individual with the tenacity and resilience required to drive us forward on this journey and challenge us to achieve even more by thinking big on how we use our resources. You will ensure that every pound counts in making a difference in North East Lincolnshire.

You will have a seat on our Council Management Team, reporting to the Strategic Director Resources but also having a direct line into the Chief Executive. You will also play a proactive role as a member of our heads of service team. We are looking to you to drive our financial strategy and deliver high quality financial reporting. You will make sure we strike the right balance between ensuring we are a well-managed organisation and that we take risks where you can demonstrate you know the rewards will be worth it. You will be confident with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders to deliver this agenda.

You must be a qualified accountant and be able to evidence your successful track record at a senior level in finance. You will actively support us in our change agenda, working with our key partners and advising on the financial challenges ahead.

Furthermore you will be expected to evidence experience of developing and implementing a strong performance management culture and demonstrate a track record of success and delivery in leadership roles, including strategic development and delivery.

Here at North East Lincolnshire Council we are not afraid to do things differently, and as a result we have been on quite a journey - establishing ground-breaking partnerships, seeking to re-design how the council works and looking at new ways to work with people, communities and businesses.

Essential to our success on this journey is having a strong leadership team who possess the drive, determination and vision to continue to steer our organisation through this period of significant transformation and make sure we continually challenge ourselves to achieve the best outcomes possible.

We are looking for people who have a sense of the big picture and are driven by the council's vision and direction, with a commitment to helping build our managers of the future.

If you're up for the challenge of either of these roles, then why not come and join us? You won't be disappointed.

Closing date: 18 February 2013
