Our vision at London Borough of Redbridge is to make our Borough a great place to live, study, work and visit. Redbridge is at the heart of regeneration and change in East London –  part of Thames Gateway, and a few minutes from Stratford.  The area already boasts excellent educational, sports and leisure facilities, shopping and cultural attractions, as well as numerous parks and green spaces. Now we want our population to enjoy an even better environment and an economically vibrant area. As our Chief Planning & Regeneration Officer, you will help us achieve these goals and play your part in creating an even better Borough.

Your challenge

  • to lead our Planning, Regeneration & Inward Investment   functions to deliver sustainable development and high quality environments for living and working
  • to make Redbridge an attractive choice  for inward    investment by ensuring that relevant services such as Planning perform to the highest standard
  • to motivate and inspire the teams involved
  • to promote Redbridge as a key retail and suburban business    location, developing employment and skills capabilities to     encourage economic activity

As an experienced planner, you will be well versed in social, economic and planning policy, as well as statutory planning systems. With experience of managing complex projects, budgets and partnerships, you will be a capable, influential leader with the credibility to lead large teams, and to thrive in a political environment. With a focus on customer care and service delivery, you will be able to provide strong policy guidance and leadership; making sure that Redbridge's diverse and growing population benefits from vibrant economic growth to become an even better Borough.
