A planned overhaul of financial management in councils will be ‘recrafted’ after treasurers rejected a draft code and called for wholesale changes.

A planned overhaul of financial management in councils will be ‘recrafted' after treasurers rejected a draft code and called for wholesale changes.

Treasurer societies had been frustrated that issues they highlighted in road-testing exercise by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) earlier this year were not reflected in the draft.
