Clarity is my one wish

Clarity from the Government on the three fundamental topics of finance, waste collection changes and housing numbers is would make critical differences to how councils are able to strategically plan services, says Gill Kneller.

If there's one thing that would make my life easier, it would be clarity from central Government. It doesn't matter who's in power, it matters that they give us information in good time so we can plan.

Times are tough for local government, with more section 114 notices being issued. This highlights how critical it is to plan operations in line with our financial strategy. 
We need clarity on how much, if any, funding we will receive from central Government, its waste collection expectations and housing targets.
