Confronting the graph of doom

Tracie Evans wonders if this is the right moment to remind everybody that 'we in the sector predicted in the graph of doom that 2019/20 would be the year when the money would start running out...'

I had been expecting news of our local government finance settlement, which has been delayed. Instead, it seems the whole of England suffered mobile connection problems, which meant my taxi could only take cash, my phone didn't work and I couldn't get hold of the person I was supposed to be having dinner with. I can't imagine how this affected people who are more vulnerable and who rely on technological solutions. And I thought Brexit wasn't happening until March.

Is this the right moment to remind everybody that we in the sector predicted in the graph of doom that 2019/20 would be the year when the money would start running out and when councils would be spending most of their money on social care?
