Fresh calls have been made for the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to increase the transparency surrounding the ‘confusing' calculation of revenue support grant (RSG).

Council finance chiefs have repeatedly called for increased transparency in the calculation of RSG, including a full breakdown of the local government resource departmental expenditure limits (DEL), how the central share of business rates is funding local government grants and visibility of the process for calculating funding cuts.
