Core Cities' bold move amid a Brexit-focused tide

We are living with a one-policy government with complete inertia when it comes to anything outside Brexit, writes Heather Jameson as Core Cities are forced to bypass ministers to meet with EU negotiator Michael Barnier.

The Core Cities collected in Parliament this week to launch its latest green paper on its offer to government in the run-up to Brexit. The problem is, the Government is not listening. 

According to the group, it has tried to engage with the Brexit secretary – to no avail. Even coming to the heart of Westminster, launching its offer inside Parliament, could not entice a single cabinet member to come along.
