Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has launched a scathing attack on the Scottish Government's efforts to tackle the ‘nationwide epidemic' of child poverty.

Speaking at the annual conference of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities today, Mr Brown said measures currently proposed were ‘not good enough' and had ‘not a hope' of meeting a target of cutting child poverty to below 10%.
