Council chief executives are warning of serious service failures within three years, saying there is little fat left to trim in local government, according to a new survey.

The Local State We're In survey, by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), shows that while councils have achieved planned savings for 2012/13, 96% of chief executives are concerned the Spending Review will result in significant financial pressures for their council.
