Council group makes bid for CA 'evolution'

A group of councils is calling for changes to the law as the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill passes through the House of Commons.

A group of councils is calling for changes to the law as the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill passes through the House of Commons.

The MJ understands that 20 mainly Key Cities – including Cambridge, Norwich, Southend, Brighton, Portsmouth, Southampton, Plymouth, Milton Keynes and Preston – have been lobbying communities secretary Greg Clark for an ‘evolution' to the original combined authority legislation.
