Council plea for landfill ban funding

The Scottish Government has been asked for funding to implement a looming ban on sending biodegradable waste to landfill.

The Scottish Government has been asked for funding to implement a looming ban on sending biodegradable waste to landfill.

Argyll and Bute Council has said it will cost about £1.5m to adapt to the change, which aims to divert material such as food, card, paper and garden waste away from landfill sites.
