First council to run water services in-house

Nottingham City Council expects to save an estimated £64,000 a year after it becomes the first local authority to run its own water services in-house.

Nottingham City Council expects to save an estimated £64,000 a year after it becomes the first local authority to run its own water services in-house.

The move comes after the council secured a water self-supply licence, which allows it to buy water directly from wholesaler Severn Trent Water.
