Local authorities that experienced the 2011 riots are confident there will not be a repeat of the civil unrest this year, according to new research by the LGiU.
The survey - Riots: One Year On – shows what measures local authorities have taken in response to the events of last year. The results reveal that 95% of local authorities feel they are prepared if riots do break out again, with nearly half saying they have reviewed their emergency plans following the recommendations in the Riots, Communities and Victims Panel report.
