Local authorities in England are failing to collect £2.3bn in council tax bills, according to figures released by Bob Neill.

Local authorities in England are failing to collect £2.3bn in council tax bills, according to figures released by local government minister, Bob Neill.

According to reports in The Telegraph, the figures were given in response to a parliamentary answer to MP Helen Jones. Neill revealed that uncollected council tax works out to £100 per household on average, which could help plug the gap in cuts to public services.
