The introduction of the bedroom tax has increased the number of people being hired in council contact centres, according to the latest Professional Talent Spotlight.

The recruitment market commentary, published by Badenoch & Clark, found that councils are seeing an increase in enquiries from the public concerning the bedroom tax and are hiring more advisors as a result.

Welfare reforms have also lead to an increase in the number of benefits assessors being employed, the figures show.
