More than 100 councils in England have no reserves to draw upon to cover the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.

English local authorities' unallocated and earmarked reserves available to ease the blow of increased costs and lost income amount to £1.6bn, according to analysis shared with councils by the Local Government Association, seen by The MJ.
