Local government has performed a Herculean effort in keeping the country going during unprecedented and hugely challenging times for all of us.

I'd like to say a special thank you to all councillors and council officers up and down the country who have been out on the frontline, working flat out around the clock, protecting the most vulnerable in our communities, and doing all they can to keep our critical public services running.
