A national body made up of organisations working together to raise the standard of communications in the public sector has warned councils against banning TikTok.

The new North Yorkshire Council has already banned the installation of the social media app on work devices over security concerns and ‘strongly discouraged' staff from installing it on any personal devices that are also used for work purposes.
