The number of council chief and senior managers confident their council is meeting the expectations of residents has dropped significantly in the last 12 months.

In a new survey carried out by the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE), in conjunction with The MJ, just 58% of respondents said they were confident or very confident of meeting these expectations, compared with 76% last year.
