Opposition is mounting over government plans for starter homes, as a poll reveals cross-party resistance to housing policy.

As the Housing Bill returned to the Lords this week, a poll of 105 councils found 93% thought that the introduction of starter homes, a key plank of the legislation, would fail to address the need for low-cost properties.
