Croydon facing £9m asylum funding shortfall

Croydon LBC is heading for another financial hit this year as a result of a funding shortfall to support unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC).

Croydon LBC is heading for another financial hit this year as a result of a funding shortfall to support unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC).

Officers have forecast a £9.4m deficit in costs relating to support for UASC and people with no recourse to public funds, according to the council's latest financial monitoring report.
