Too many cuts could drain councils of their services

Heather Jameson says: ‘The question for ministers is not just ‘which councils face financial collapse’? It is also ‘which councils have cut so much that local services will suffer?’

Just when you think nothing in politics could surprise you again, the former PM and inadvertent architect of Brexit pops back up as foreign secretary.

As Cabinet appointments go, it is unusual – but presumably David Cameron will have greater longevity than Liz Truss' premiership.
