Responding to the complex threat to public health presented by COVID-19 has been almost without precedent in the UK, accepting we have had pandemics before but never in a world that looks as complex and interconnected as today.
Given it fell squarely to local government and their public health teams to develop the roadmap and lead their communities through the past 18 months it seems sensible the same groups also consider what lessons need to be learned and what new approaches need to be adopted if we are to take anything positive from the last year and a half.
