The number of applications seeking authorisation to deprive children of their liberty has increased following the launch of a dedicated court for England and Wales.

The number of applications seeking authorisation to deprive children of their liberty has increased following the launch of a dedicated court for England and Wales.

There were 1,389 applications relating to 1,249 children in the court's first year of operation, according to a report by the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory.
