The Government has refused to publish key details about how its £300m transitional grant was allocated after claiming it was ‘not in the public interest’.

The Government has refused to publish key details about how its £300m transitional grant was allocated after claiming it was ‘not in the public interest'.

A response to a Freedom of Information Act request to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) claimed the ‘public interest served by disclosure of the information we hold in this case would be minimal beyond a small number of interested parties'.
