As the ninth largest metropolitan borough in England, it was crucial that Wigan MBC was able to provide efficient COVID-19 testing to our 300,000+ residents throughout the pandemic.

As a nation, and as a local council, we faced an extraordinary challenge. Wigan MBC was selected as one of ten local authorities in England to pilot local COVID-19 PCR testing for our residents.
