Digital tools to do the job with

Improved collaboration and knowledge sharing will support the whole of the public sector in innovating its way through the unrelenting pressure that is driving us all to rethink how we do busines, writes Jason Fahy.

Knowledge Hub is the digital collaboration space dedicated to the public and non-profit sectors. It currently helps more than 100,000 members across 1,400 groups to connect, share knowledge, drive initiatives and exchange expertise on what matters to them.

Topics range from adult social care to waste management, local projects to international training programmes and time-limited themes to established communities of practice.

The continued growth of Knowledge Hub stands to benefit everyone working in public services – the more people on board, the greater the available knowledge pool that members can tap in to. So, last month, we were delighted to announce a partnership with Socitm, the society for IT/digital leaders and professionals working across public services.

Many Socitm members are already active users of Knowledge Hub through the Web Improvement and Usage Community. Socitm is now one of the first organisations to implement Knowledge Hub's new ‘Network' facility; meaning it can set up and manage a dedicated community on behalf of its 1,650 members. At the same time Socitm members and the wider Knowledge Hub community stand to benefit from being able to share each other's insight and expertise.  It is all about enabling greater community intelligence across public services.
