Director of Children's Social Care

Leading innovation in children's social care.

Salary range: £102K to £115K.

A progressive authority serving a diverse and dynamic community, we have ambitious plans to create a co-operative commissioning council in Lambeth which puts communities, residents, children and young people at the centre of everything we do.

To help us succeed, we are looking for an aspiring and ambitious leader who will build on the success we have achieved in Children's Social Care and bring further innovation and creativity to the roles. This is a real opportunity to shape the future of social care by working closely together as a team to secure sustainable outcomes in Children's Social Care.

As the lead professional for social work and social care in the council, you will strategically lead and manage Children's Social Care. Actively supporting organisational change, you will bring proven experience to leading local safeguarding procedures and practices.

You will be a qualified social work professional with successful experience in a senior management post in a large service organisation and a proven record of achievement in the delivery of services. Strategic in your thinking and politically aware, you will have outstanding leadership and partnership building skills, together with the ability to work effectively with elected members. You will also have an understanding of the needs and challenges presented by communities in a deprived inner-city area.

If you think you have the energy, imagination and determination demanded by this challenging role, then come and join us.
