Director of Finance and Assurance

Named Best Achieving Council at the MJ Awards in 2011, Harrow is recognised for its innovation and success.

Following a corporate restructure, we are seeking a Director of Finance and Assurance to join our new Resources Directorate at a pivotal time in our improvement agenda. As Harrow's Section 151 Officer, reporting to the Corporate Director of Resources, you will play a critical role in supporting the Council to achieve its ambitious plans for the future whilst remaining a passionate advocate for Finance and Assurance. This is a key role and you will be expected to continue driving the financial management of the authority to become best in class.

We are looking for someone to enthuse and inspire the Finance and Assurance workforce on our improvement journey and who can command respect from officers at all levels. You must bring a strong track record of setting balanced budgets, providing strategic financial advice at the highest levels but just as importantly be an excellent people manager. Your corporate approach and relationship building skills will have been honed at a senior level in a comparable organisation, positioning you to make a unique impact in a high performing authority.

For further information, please contact Penny Ransley on 020 7426 3962 or Philip Emms on 0113 205 6078 or visit this link.

Closing date: 2nd November 2012.
