I recently attended an LGA event involving many of the leading figures in local government to discuss how local government might move forward over the next few years.

The LGA's rewiring public services publication was the starting point for the discussion.

The mood was remarkably buoyant given the many challenges we are facing. The general consensus was that we are doing much well and probably not selling this well enough - to our residents, our partners, civil servants, MPs and ministers.
