Districts call for funding after grant criticisms

District councils have called for the funding for Disabled Facilities Grants to be given to them after the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) called for improvements.

District councils have called for the funding for Disabled Facilities Grants to be given to them after the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) called for improvements.

A new report by the LGO said delays in the grant process, which is currently administered through the Better Care Fund, with funding given to counties, were leaving disabled people in unsuitable homes for too long.
