Don't ignore the work of the districts on social prescribing

When announcing new social prescribers the Government ignored the progress being made in district councils and has created a parallel competing bureaucracy, says Cllr John Fuller.

We welcome the NHS's decision to recognise the positive impact of social prescribing, which is helping to keep people fit and well and out of hospital.

Last year, the NHS evidenced best practice in this area, highlighting the effective contribution of district councils.
