Edinburgh City Council has watered down its calls for more devolved powers under its new leadership, The MJ understands.

Last year the council's previous Labour leader Cammy Day called for devolution packages on offer to English authorities to be extended to Scotland, arguing additional powers would help Edinburgh compete with other UK and European cities.
