The Department for Education (DfE) is trailing behind other parts of Whitehall in its willingness to devolve, analysis by the Local Government Association (LGA) has found

A report to a meeting of the LGA's executive last week said education and children's services powers were ‘notable for their absence' in the devolution deals signed so far despite proposals from a number of councils.
