Re-engaging business and boroughs

The Charter for Business sets out London boroughs’ commitment to growing the city’s economy for the benefit of all who live there. Cllr Clare Coghill looks at how to enable the dialogue between business and boroughs required to make this happen.

One of the many reasons people are drawn to London is its status as an outward-looking and global city. Its business environment reflects and supports that identity, attracting people to one of the world's greatest business capitals.

However, London is much more than high finance. More than one million enterprises are registered in the capital, with the vast majority being small to micro-businesses. Often they play on a global stage. I can proudly say that the men's World Cup cricket balls, Dukes, are produced in my own borough.
