Liverpool City Council's corporate peer review was significantly watered down before publication after pressure from the authority, The MJ has learned.
The Local Government Association (LGA) review, which was conducted in June but only released late last month, praised the council for its inclusive growth plans, commercialisation and for meeting its financial challenges.
