Finance chiefs need a long-term view at the mid-year point

Even without a new Government, this time of year when councils are modelling what budgets and medium-term financial sustainability looks like, has always been challenging, especially with single-year settlements, says Adele Taylor

As we reach the mid-year point of the financial year, our ability to make quick changes to any pressures experienced in our financial performance becomes ever more crucial.

We need to ensure the link between our performance, finance and risk information is very closely aligned and the information managers need in order to pivot and make real-time changes can be at our fingertips.
