The news is constantly full of gloomy pictures created by increasing cuts to public services. But there is one resource in local government that is becoming more important every day and will continue to grow – in volume and value – despite the budget cuts: data.

Local government services collect and produce data on a scale that has never been seen before and yet we only make rudimental use of it to actively influence and change service outcomes for our residents.
