Fixing social care is a crucial mission for all of us

A new analysis by London Councils shows the capital’s adult social care funding situation is ‘simply unsustainable’, with a shortfall of £540m expected by 2025, says Cllr Ray Puddifoot.

It is immensely encouraging that the government now appears to be recognising the widespread concern that our national approach to adult social care requires both urgent reform and adequate funding.

Indeed, while London Councils' latest report on the state of the capital's adult social care sector highlights significant successes, it also raises major concerns.
