London boroughs work together to face the HIV challenge

The London HIV Prevention Programme (LHPP) is clearly a public health success story, says Cllr Ray Puddifoot - and local government in the capital is determined to lead the way in efforts to end HIV altogether.

World AIDS Day is an opportunity to raise awareness, show support for those affected, and review the progress being made in addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

HIV remains a serious public health challenge for London. The capital is home to an estimated 36,000 people living with the condition – accounting for around 40 per cent of all those living with HIV in England.
