Local government must start thinking about future audit arrangements today, the chairman of the sector-led body that hopes to run the national scheme has urged.
Steve Freer, of Public Sector Audit Appointments, said he hoped the Department for Communities and Local Government would choose his organisation to the deliver the scheme from 2018/19 this month.
