Regional pay is an ‘attack on women’ as 65% of all public sector workers are female, trade union GMB asserts.

Regional pay is an ‘attack on women' as 65% of all public sector workers are female, according to trade union GMB.

Figures released by the trade union show which proportion of public sector workers are female in each region. In the West Midlands, nearly 69% of all public sector employees are female. Redcar and Cleveland has the highest proportion of women working in the sector at 71.6%.
